Electrical room enlargement








Enlargement of an existing electrical room for the replacement of a 4.16 kV switchgear by two 4.16 kV switchgears to permit greater flexibility and reliability. This project included coordination with an architect, the engineering for the electrical feed of the new switchgears, the electrical distribution of the building expansion, the new cable trays, the transfer of the existing loads to the new switchgears, the electrical studies.

Care was taken when planning load transfers to ensure a minimal shutdown on critical loads and to minimize work to be executed during the planned triennial plant shutdown. 


  • Civil/structural specifications for building expansion.
  • Multiple electrical and I&C work specifications.
  • Electrical studies (load flow, coordination, short-circuit and arc flash).
