Hydrogen Production and Storage

New Brunswick, Canada

Project description

In collaboration with the client, GCM evaluated the available, stable, excess power that could be stored for use during lower demand periods. This potential was the basis of the study and one steady-state capacity was considered in the project definition.

CM evaluated the feasibility of producing hydrogen from electrolysis with and the requirements entailed for 3 different technologies.

GCM Mandate

GCM was mandated to evaluate the option to produce hydrogen by electrolysis from the 150 MW of excess power available during lower demand periods.

Deliverables

  • Formal study report with a preliminary Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Heat & Mass Balance (HMB) and a list of pros and cons for each option considered
  • Order of Magnitude Cost Estimate
  • Recommendation for the best option
