Réal flourishes in complex situations. “I don’t need perfectly clear objectives. I can navigate in the fog, adjusting and reacting as needed.” Serving as the Vice President of Energy, Réal has more than 30 years of experience bringing home complex projects, including some of the largest projects in GCM’s history. “I perform well on projects that may not be well-defined at the start. It puts me in a position where I can review all the options and leverage my experience to chart the best path forward for the client.

A gifted engineer, Réal is committed to keeping up with the latest trends and developments in both industrial technology and market conditions. “For fun, I read about different new technologies that we can try to work with on future projects. What’s new in renewable energy, energy transition, and so on. Also, general industry trends and macroeconomics. I follow all of it.”

Don’t mistake his calm disposition, Réal is passionate about his projects and determined to see them through to success. Clients truly appreciate his ability to dive into the technical details of any project, regardless the discipline. He is described as a “multi-talented” generalist, one who can dive into the details whenever needed. “I know how to work with all the disciplines, ask them the right questions, the right things to try so that, together, we can converge on the best solutions.

Réal values authenticity in the people he works with. “I respect people who are straight shooters, who say what needs to be said even when it is difficult.”

Most of all, Réal considers himself an advocate for the client. “With me, clients know that someone on the other end is really listening. I understand where they are coming from, who they are in their organization, and what they need from their projects. They can rely on me to be on their side to push the team at GCM, so that we can find the best solution for their projects.”
